The St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School playground will soon reopen, marking an important milestone for a school community that has spent the past year rebuilding after a devastating fire.

On July 12, 2025, a fire caused significant damage to part of the playground. No one was injured, but the loss was deeply felt by students, families, and community members who had worked for years to bring the playground to life.

Since then, Edmonton Catholic Schools has worked to assess the damage, complete cleanup efforts, and rebuild the playground.

Opening Day

The opening of the St. Pius X playground has been delayed. We are working to finalize the project and will share a reopening date as soon as it is confirmed.

Grand Opening Celebration

An official grand opening celebration is planned for September. Additional details about the event will be shared in the fall.
