St. Pius X Playground

On July 12, 2025, a fire severely damaged the playground at St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School in Edmonton’s Sherbrooke community. The St. Pius X playground is an important part of our school, providing a space where students play, grow, and connect. While the school building was not affected, Edmonton Police has confirmed the fire was deliberately set and continues to investigate.

Edmonton Catholic Schools is working with its insurance provider to assess the damage, complete the cleanup in time for the new school year, and begin planning for the playground’s reconstruction.
